Nigerian media personality and former OAP Toke Makinwa has shared a heartwarming tour of her daughter’s nursery room.
Taking to Instagram, the proud mum posted a video of the beautifully designed space, expressing her joy at finally bringing her vision to life.
Toke explained that she wanted her daughter’s nursery to feel warm, cosy, and modern, and she thanked the decorators for perfectly capturing her dream.
Sharing photos of the space, she wrote:
“My baby Yakira Eliana… I’ve dreamed of this for so long, I’m so thankful for the grace to bring it to life. My baby’s nursery. I wanted it to feel warm, cosy, and very modern. @beddingsnbeyond understood the assignment. Thank you for bringing this to life, the ceiling steals my heart time and time again, the gender-neutral tones, everything just dreamy as I want it.”
This comes after Toke welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana, in August at the age of 40.
Marking her baby’s one-month milestone, she described the journey as unbelievable and thanked her little one for choosing her. Toke promised to give her best as a mother while reflecting on how her daughter has already healed the brokenness she carried since childhood.
She revealed that motherhood has transformed her, admitting that her pregnancy kept her indoors for most of the year, a big change for someone who usually enjoys an active social lifestyle.
The media personality also shared how her daughter unknowingly helped her heal from old grief and trauma she thought she had long resolved.
On her podcast, Toke became emotional as she recalled praying to God to become a mother by the time she turned 40. To her joy, she discovered she was pregnant the month after her milestone birthday — a prayer answered.
