First-time mum and popular media star Toke Makinwa is still basking in the joy of motherhood after welcoming her baby girl, Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, and Adunola.
Taking to Instagram, the former OAP expressed how obsessed she is with her daughter, admitting she can’t stop taking pictures of her. Signing out of August with a grateful heart, Toke thanked the month for bringing her “the best gift ever” — the gift of becoming a mother.
She wrote:
! My mum is obsessed. She keeps taking pictures of me. Signing out of August with a heart full of gratitude. Thank you, August, for bringing me the best gift ever. I’m somebody’s mommy.”
In an emotional note to her newborn, Toke revealed how her daughter has changed her life and healed the brokenness she carried since she was 8 years old. She confessed she is already “drowning in her big ol’ eyes,” learning so much about her, and even did her first manicure. The excited mum said she can’t wait for future spa dates with her little girl and looks forward to introducing her to Jesus.
Earlier in August, Toke announced her pregnancy with a touching video of her baby bump. She later revealed she was expecting a baby girl, breaking down on her podcast as she shared how she had prayed to God to become a mum at 40 — a prayer that was answered a month after her milestone birthday.
Despite fears during her pregnancy, Toke said she eventually found peace in God’s promises, recalling that “the gift of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow.”
