In a newly surfaced video, Toke Makinwa and singer D’Banj were seen socializing with friends. During the video, Makinwa shared a story about D’Banj’s generosity, recalling an incident from a few years ago when he pledged ten million Naira at her book launch.
According to Makinwa, D’Banj fulfilled his pledge promptly by transferring the amount the very next morning, without any strings attached.
Makinwa contrasted D’Banj’s behaviour with what she described as the typical actions of some Nigerian men, who might expect something in return for their generosity. Her praise for D’Banj as a man who gave without ulterior motives sparked a mixed reaction on social media.
