Job Description
Predict population demands that will be made in an area, whether urban or rural.
Responsibilities
- Predict population demands that will be made in an area, whether urban or rural.
- Preparing reports and plans relating to projects arising from the Masterplans.
- Review and evaluate technical environmental impact reports about private and public projects and programs.
- Zoning of lands into different uses and selection of land or site for special development such as schools, stadiums, railways, etc.
- Preparing preliminary design for layout plans and civic designs
- Investigate sites for Government projects and other public schemes and uses.
- Collecting physical and social survey data and various field information to assess the effects on town planning decisions and purposes.
- Examining building plans and physical development proposals.
- Assist in protecting buildings and areas that are of environmental, historical, and archeological importance.
- Assist to mediate community disputes and assist in developing alternate plans and recommendations for programs or projects.
- Coordinate the work of the urban planning officers, staff, technical technicians, and technologists.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) or HND (minimum of Lower Credit) in Urban and Regional Planning.
- Evidence of TOPREC registration is an added advantage.
- Candidates must possess NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Candidates must be computer literate, with good interpersonal/leadership skills and ability to effectively work in teams.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 22-30.
- Experience in the use of CAD&GIS Tools will be added advantage.
