Nollywood actor and social commentator Uche Maduagwu has taken a bold stance against Apostle Johnson Suleman’s recent sermon, where the clergyman addressed women who often declare “Love na scam.”
During a church service, Apostle Suleman of Omega Fire Ministry criticized ladies who use such phrases, claiming it stems from their frustration when men fail to meet their expectations. He remarked,
Some young ladies say love is a scam. Any man they see that doesn’t give them what they want, they say love is a scam. Lady, love isn’t a scam; you just see men as customers.”
Unimpressed by this statement, Uche Maduagwu took to the streets of Lagos to protest and question why a clergyman would delve into such a topic. According to Uche, many women express such sentiments because of the pain and betrayal they endure in relationships.
He said,
Dear Apostle Suleman, abeg, wetin concern gospel teaching with ‘Love Na SCM’? Many people dey call my attention to this your preaching because I promoted a song titled ‘Love Na SCM’ last year. With the way Naija men dey show ladies SHEGE for relationships today, abeg, se love no be SCM ni?”
Known for his outspoken nature, Uche Maduagwu is no stranger to addressing controversial topics and calling out public figures.
