Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has penned an emotional note to celebrate her senior colleague, Peju Ogunmola, following the veteran’s return to work after months of mourning.

Earlier today, Peju shared an emotional video on her Instagram page, opening up about her healing journey. She described the past few months as “heavy” but expressed gratitude for the love, prayers, and condolences that have carried her through the storm. The actress announced that she is ready to return to the screen, stronger and more determined than ever.

“A new month, a new dawn.
The past months have been heavy, but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm.
Today, I rise stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again.
The screens have missed me… and I’m back, doing what I love most.”

Reposting the video, Wumi Toriola hailed the veteran for her courage and resilience, describing her as a strong woman and a true inspiration.

“A strong woman and more.
Your strength and resilience is everything.
Returning to your craft with courage and determination is a testament to your unbreakable spirit.
I celebrate you, ma @official_pejuogunmola.”

Yoruba Nollywood stars and fans flooded the actress’s comment section with heartfelt words of encouragement and love.

Kemi Korede wrote: “The Lord is your strength, ma’am.”
Ayo Olaiya added: “Mami, Abo Oluwa, ogbon imo ati oye o ni fiyin sile. We love you, Mum.”
Aisha Lawal wrote: “Mummy, it is well with you, ma.”
Bimbo Akinsanya, Jide Awobona, Jamiu Azeez, Bimpe Akintunde, and Jayeola Monje also expressed love and support, reassuring her that she is not alone.

In September 2024, the film industry was thrown into mourning after news broke that Peju Ogunmola had lost her only child, Ayomikun. According to a family statement released by spokesperson Yemi Amodu, Ayomikun passed away after a brief illness in Ibadan and had since been buried.

Following the tragic loss, many Nollywood veterans, including Dele Odule, Ronke Odusanya, Fausat Balogun, Bimbo Oshin, Olaiya Igwe, and Fali Werepe, visited Peju and her husband, Sunday Omobolanle (Papi Luwe), to console them.
