Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has revealed the reason she holds legendary actress Genevieve Nnaji in such high esteem.
Taking to Instagram, Yvonne shared a throwback clip from a 2007 movie where she featured alongside Genevieve. She disclosed that shortly after shooting the project, she traveled abroad to further her education, spending five years away from Nollywood.
The actress recounted how Genevieve’s warmth and kindness on set left a lasting impression on her.
“This matter long ooo. See what someone sent me – 2007. From this movie set, I left straight to the airport and left Nollywood for five years to study. I even almost missed my flight. Truthfully, this movie is why I always adore Genevieve. She was too kind and sweet to me on this project, very warm and pleasant… If you know the name of this movie, please indicate because I don’t remember,” she wrote.
Weeks ago, Yvonne sparked reactions after a fan questioned her realistic performance as a prostitute in Mercy Aigbe’s movie Thinline. The actress admitted she was startled by the comment but clarified that her convincing portrayal came purely from her dedication to acting.
In another show of commitment to her craft, Yvonne made headlines when she shaved her hair for a 2025 movie role. She explained that the transformation wasn’t about money but about bringing authenticity to the character. She also shared a 15-year-old throwback photo of herself bald, proving her history of making bold choices for roles.
