Justice Kulu Aliyu, the chief justice of Zamfara State, has granted thirty inmates an unconditional pardon.

Judge Aliyu cautioned the exonerated prisoners to abstain from all illegal activity in order to contribute to society.

The Gusau Central Correctional Centre freed the inmates.

Those convicted of different crimes or those awaiting trial make up the freed prisoners, along with those on death row.

Barrister Aisha Jibril, the State’s Director of Litigation, said that the Chief Judge had advised the pardoned prisoners to alter their behaviour.

It was learned that the most common cases were rape, witchcraft, and getting money under false pretenses, among other things.
