Wilfred Ndidi is excited about facing former Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr.
Rohr, who guided the Super Eagles from 2016 to 2021, will lead the Squirrels of Benin Republic against his old team in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Monday.
The match will take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
Ndidi noted that playing the Frenchman will be a significant motivator for the Super Eagles.

He said:
“Gernot Rohr, he coached us for five years, but within those years players are coming, players are going,” the Leicester City player told a press conference ahead of the game.
“Facing him is actually a motivation because we know he’s a good coach, and we know he’s going to plan to win.
“We approaching that game we have to show him that he actually missed something in the team, that’s what we have to do now.”
