Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has announced the sad news of the passing of his beloved first wife, Mrs. Ifeoma Kalu, at the age of 61.
The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District shared the news on Monday, April 3, via a statement on his official Facebook page.
In his statement, Senator Kalu described his late wife as a virtuous woman who dedicated her life to serving God and humanity. A memorial service in her honour is set to be held in the United States of America (USA). He requested prayers for her soul and loved ones during this difficult time.
Orji Uzor Kalu married Ifeoma Ada Menakaya in December 1989 in Igbere, Abia State. The couple had four children: Neya Uzor Kalu, Michael Uzor Kalu, Olivia Uzor Kalu, and Nicole Uzor Kalu.
The former governor of Abia State served from 1999 to 2007. He currently serves as the Chief Whip of the Senate.
