Mr Tokunbo Talabi, Secretary to the Ogun State Government, has stated that he petitioned the Department of State Services for a probe into the charges levelled against him by nameless individuals.

Tokunbo, in a statement signed by the Information Officer, Office of the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Adegoke Oyebade, on Saturday denied being questioned by the DSS over the printing of election ballot sheets and the misappropriation of COVID-19 monies.

He stated:

“Superflux Nigeria Limited, a security printing company, where Mr Talabi once held sway as Director, had earlier issued a statement, which was widely used in both the print media and various online platforms.

“The allegations that the company was contracted to print ballots papers by the Independent National Electoral Commission as well as money laundering and in the process linked the SSG to the frivolous allegations, are barbaric and spurious.

“The company in the said statement also frowned at being tagged as a conduit for money laundering, siphoning COVID-19 funds, saying such allegations are clearly handiworks of mischief makers and traducers who were hell-bent tarnishing the reputation of the company before its numerous customers and that of its former Director.

“It was against this backdrop that Mr Talabi petitioned the DSS and subsequently visited the service to defend his petition and provide more clarification. He petitioned the security agency asking for an investigation of the baseless, evil, and politically motivated allegations against him by faceless people and his visit to the DSS office to speak to his petition did not last more than 40 minutes.”
