The Ogun State Government, in collaboration with the Afterschool Graduate Development Centre (AGDC), plans to train over 500 youths on Solar Panel Installation and Sales between August 25th and September 1st, 2023, in all three senatorial districts, as part of the activities commemorating this year’s International Youth Day.
A statement signed by the Project Manager, Mr Abiola Odetola, and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday stated that the focus on Solar Panel Installation and Sales was to tie into the theme of this year’s International Youth Day, which is: “Green Skills For Youth Towards a Sustainable World.”
The statement further stated that the activities were designed to meet the aims of SDG Goal 7-Affordable Clean Energy and SDG Goal 8-Decent Work and Economic Growth.
It, therefore, urged unemployed youths in the state between the ages of 18 and 40 to take advantage of the chance, which would give the necessary skills for an internship with solar enterprises, while successful trainees will be rewarded with free start-up kits.
