The Federal Capital Territory Police Command’s State Criminal Investigation Department is currently investigating the alleged poisoning of Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism, who has been hospitalised for more than a week.
The FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, revealed this during a chat with newsmen on Tuesday.
Adeh stated:
“The General Investigation Department of the State CID is investigating the matter, and the details of the investigation will be communicated by the FCT Command to the public soon.”
Ade-John, 60, who was appointed as a minister by President Bola Tinubu in August and was hailed as one of the few cabinet members selected from outside the political beltway, has been hospitalised in Abuja after purportedly suffering from severe poisoning of unknown origin.
According to family members acquainted with the situation, she was brought to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi immediately after she began exhibiting signs of poisoning.
