Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, has paid the state’s public workers’ and retirees’ wages and pensions for the thirteenth month.
In accordance with the governor’s promise, employees and pensioners got their 13th month pay and benefits early on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, according to a statement released on Wednesday by the state Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare.
“The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has paid the 13th month salaries and pensions of workers and pensioners in the state.
“Governor Godwin Obaseki has honoured the pledge to pay 13th month salary on Workers Day. The governor’s gesture further demonstrates his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners.
“The payment of the 13th month salaries and pensions will help in ameliorating the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government,” the commissioner stated.
