Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory FCT Minister, has told Kwali Area Council people that he is determined to complete the abandoned township stadium.
He made the guarantee on Wednesday in Yangoji, where he launched the 11-kilometer Kwali-Sukuku-Abo road project.
He promised to complete any abandoned projects in the local council that his administration had inherited.
The 20,000-capacity sporting facilities were given with five others across the territory’s six area councils during the administration of former FCT Minister Bala Mohammed.
Wike stated that the people at the grassroots deserve decent infrastructure, and vowed to lead the FCT in this area.
He stated that part of the plan is to renovate some schools in the six local councils during the next six months.
According to him:
“This is the time first time we are going to drive development in rural areas. We are touching rural areas to renew their hope, because they have suffered years of abandonment.
“This is your time to benefit. If we don’t take care of rural areas, then we have failed as a government.”
