Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has pledged to finish the ongoing construction of Makurdi Township roads in time for the upcoming Easter holiday.
Also, he promised that work on building rural roads throughout the state will soon get underway, facilitating the movement of agricultural products to metropolitan areas by opening up the rural areas.
The governor gave the assurance over the weekend during the burial Mass for the late Tor Sankera, HRM Abu King Shuluwa, held at Saint Gerald’s Majella Cathedral in Katsina-Ala, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, or LGA, of the state.
Gov Alia also stated that “the Makurdi-Gboko, Yandev-Ugbema-Katsina Ala, Yandev-Buruku crossing point and Kastina Ala- Wukari highways have been captured in the 2024 budget.”
He guaranteed that his government will continue to urge Minister of Works Senator Dave Umahi to start construction on the aforementioned Federal Road sections.
