Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has been left humbled after receiving the Eko Leadership Award for Youth and Empowerment from the Eko Heritage Awards.
Taking to Instagram, Iyabo expressed her gratitude to the organizers for the honor.
Yesterday, I got an Eko Leadership award for youth and empowerment, proudly organised by @ekoheritageawards …. Thank you so much to the organisers; I’m grateful and humbled”.
The award comes amid Iyabo’s ongoing social media feud with Very Dark Man, who mocked her for allegedly not being invited to Davido’s main wedding. Iyabo responded with proof of her invitation, leading to a public spat.
Despite the drama, many colleagues congratulated her. Toyin Adewale, Biodun Okeowo, May Edochie, Itele, Tayo Adeniyi, and Kazim Adeoti praised her achievement, noting she deserved the recognition.
TVC’s Managing Director, Morayo Afolabi Brown, defended Iyabo, describing her as a woman with noble intentions. Actress Wumi Toriola celebrated her resilience and strength, while actor Ibrahim Chatta called her a superwoman.
However, actress Sonia Ogiri criticized Iyabo, suggesting she was disgracing herself and urging her to follow the example of colleagues like Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Ekeinde. Sonia also urged Iyabo’s boyfriend, Paulo Okoye, to help calm the situation.
