President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the first fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Innoson Motors manufactured the buses domestically, with 20 in the initial batch.
The administration expressed optimism that the buses will assist to alleviate transportation issues, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Five CNG buses were taken to the Presidential Villa’s forecourt, where the President commissioned them during a break from the Federal Executive Council, or FEC, meeting.
The supply of CNG buses is one of the requests made by organised labour after the Federal Government removed fuel subsidies on May 29, 2023.
Recall that Innoson Motors’ Chairman and CEO, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, met with Tinubu last week at the Presidential Villa.
