Mr George Mfongang, the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Rivers State, has expressed worry over the alarming rate at which young Nigerian graduates are migrating abroad in pursuit of better pastures.

He stated his worry when he met with Mrs Nwamaka Ikediashi, the Rivers State Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), in his Port Harcourt office on Tuesday.

Mfongang, who characterized Nigeria as “a great country with great potential” for her graduate young, urged leaders and citizens to be patriotic, disciplined, honest, and unselfish in their efforts to improve Nigeria.

He talked against the backdrop of the NAPTIP boss’s request to be permitted to educate corps members about the perils of illegal migration at orientation camps.

Mfongang recommended she submit the request to NYSC Headquarters via NAPTIP Headquarters.

He told Ikediashi that corps members in Rivers would benefit more from the sensitization if NYSC incorporated the NAPTIP plan in its national orientation schedule.
