The tax reform bills, according to SGF George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, are innovative pieces of legislation intended to boost the country’s economy.

He said this while pleading with Nigerians to help them pass the National Assembly.

Speaking on TVC’s Politics on Sunday show, Akume emphasized that the reforms were beneficial to Nigeria and its people.

SGF asserts that despite the passage of Tax Reform Bills and other calculated economic measures carried out over the last 17 months, President Bola Tinubu has maintained the goodwill of the population.

Akume said:

“These bills are well-envisioned for Nigeria and Nigerians. Let us allow the legislative processes to take their course. These reforms will ultimately benefit everyone when fully implemented.”

The SGF outlined the administration’s economic policies and clarified that the elimination of fuel subsidies and the standardization of foreign exchange windows were crucial measures in bringing the economy under control.

“It is easy to destroy but difficult to build. These reforms aim to rebuild the Nigeria that was destroyed by previous administrations,” Akume stated.

SGF was hopeful that the outcomes of such biils would become apparent shortly, reviving faith in the country’s economic future.
