Police have arrested one suspect for allegedly raping a thirteen-year-old girl overnight in Ugbomoro Community, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, while three other suspects fled the scene.
The incident supposedly took place on January 24, 2025.
It was discovered that the young girl was on an errand for her parents when the suspect and three others who had previously taken sexual enhancement medications phoned and tricked her into their apartment, forcing carnal knowledge of her till dawn before releasing her the next morning.
The little girl’s relatives, who had been looking for her all night, apparently located her after the suspect freed her.
When approached for comment, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe verified the claim during a phone call with Our Correspondent.
According to the police image maker, one of the suspects has already been detained, while the other three are on the run.
He said, “Confirmed.” I don’t have the name yet.
He added attempts to apprehend the fleeing individuals are underway.
