The Adamawa State Police Command has neutralized a suspected kidnapper and arrested another during a high-risk operation at the Holma Mountains in Song Local Government Area.
The operation, carried out by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit in collaboration with local hunters, targeted a well-known kidnappers’ hideout.
Upon sighting the security operatives, the criminals opened fire in a bid to resist arrest, prompting a fierce gun battle. One suspect was killed, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
A suspect, identified as Mohammed Sale, was captured at the scene. Security forces also recovered an AK-47 rifle, two locally made guns, and five rounds of live ammunition.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the operatives and their local security partners for their swift and coordinated response. He urged sustained efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and ensure the safety of residents.
Morris also called on the public to report any suspicious individuals, particularly those with gunshot injuries, to the authorities.
The arrested suspect is currently in police custody, providing valuable information to aid ongoing investigations.
