Nigerian Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma have eliminated four armed criminals and apprehended one suspect during a strategic night operation in Nasarawa village, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The raid, which took place between the late hours of February 9 and the early hours of February 10, targeted a notorious bandit hideout that had been terrorizing the region.
According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the operation on his X handle (formerly Twitter), the assault was based on credible intelligence that pinpointed a known gathering point for the criminals.
Among those neutralized was a high-profile bandit from Nasarawa village, suspected of being involved in long-standing criminal activities.
“Following actionable intelligence, troops launched a decisive assault, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle. Four of the criminals were neutralized, while another suspect was successfully captured and taken into custody for further investigation,” a military source stated.
The latest success is part of the Nigerian Troops’ intensified efforts to dismantle bandit networks in the Northwest and restore peace to affected communities.
Nigerian Troops have continued to conduct targeted operations against armed groups responsible for kidnappings, killings, and other criminal activities in the region.
