Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has called on members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to participate in the state’s agricultural programs.
He made this appeal during a meeting with NYSC officials and corps members in the state, emphasising the importance of agriculture in driving economic growth and sustainability.
Governor Kefas highlighted the potential of agriculture to create employment opportunities and improve food security in Taraba.
He encouraged corps members to leverage their skills and education to contribute to the sector, noting that their involvement would not only benefit the state but also provide them with valuable experience.
The governor assured them of the government’s commitment to providing necessary support, including training and resources, to ensure their success in agricultural ventures.
The governor also emphasised the importance of innovation in farming practices, urging young people to adopt modern techniques that can enhance productivity.
He pointed out that Taraba’s fertile land and favourable climate make it ideal for various agricultural activities, ranging from crop cultivation to livestock farming.
In response, NYSC officials expressed readiness to collaborate with the state government in promoting agricultural development.
They commended Governor Kefas for his proactive approach and pledged to mobilise corps members to take advantage of the opportunities in the sector.
