The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has categorically denied circulating reports suggesting plans to relocate its headquarters from Jos, Plateau State. The clarification came in a statement issued by the agency’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Thomas Ngor, on Friday in Jos.
The ITF described as “unnecessarily alarmist” a motion raised by Theodore Bala Maiyaki, a member representing Quaan-Pan South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, which alleged impending relocation plans.
The organisation emphasised that no such consideration had been made by its management, governing council, or supervising Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
Highlighting its 48-year presence in Jos since relocating from Lagos in 1976, the ITF reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining operations in Plateau State. The statement noted the agency’s valued historical ties and socio-economic contributions to the state, dismissing the relocation rumours as completely unfounded.
The training fund expressed willingness to engage with state authorities and stakeholders to address concerns and strengthen collaboration. It urged the public to disregard the misleading information, assuring that Jos remains its permanent operational base for the foreseeable future.
The clarification comes amid growing concerns about federal agencies’ relocation from various states, with the ITF seeking to reassure Plateau residents of its continued presence and economic partnership in the region.
