A lady identified as Rahimat Salaum has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband in the Pegi district of Abuja.
SP Josephine Adeh, the Abuja Police Public Relations Officer, verified this in a statement issued Tuesday.
She said the woman was apprehended by agents from the Abuja Command assigned to the Pegi Police Division on Monday, July 29, 2024.
Josephine stated that the lady attempted to leave with her husband’s stuff before police rushed in and captured her.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman admitted to murdering her husband following an argument.
The statement said:
“She subsequently led the Police operatives to an uncompleted building where she had dumped the gruesomely burned body.
“While investigation is still ongoing, the Commissioner of Police, Abuja, CP Benneth C. Igweh, wishes to affirm that justice will be served in the matter, as he urged residents to be wary of their environment and report suspicious activities to the police.”
