The Adamawa State Government has clarified that it received a staggering 93,700 applications for just 4,000 available job vacancies, dismissing rumours circulating about unfair job allocations.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Neido Geoffrey, addressed the public concern, stating that the recruitment process remains transparent and merit-based.
According to Geoffrey, the overwhelming number of applicants reflects the high unemployment rate in the state and the eagerness of qualified candidates to secure government positions.
She emphasised that the state government is committed to ensuring a fair selection process, with all applications undergoing thorough scrutiny by relevant committees.
The commissioner urged applicants and the general public to disregard any rumours suggesting that slots have been reserved for specific individuals or groups.
She assured that the recruitment exercise would be conducted with utmost integrity, and only the most qualified candidates would be selected based on established criteria.
The job openings, which span various sectors including education, healthcare, and civil service, are part of the state government’s efforts to address unemployment and improve public service delivery.
Geoffrey advised applicants to remain patient as the government works through the extensive list of submissions.
Final selections are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, following a rigorous evaluation process. The Adamawa State Government reiterated its commitment to transparency and equal opportunity for all candidates.
