Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed his concern over the fuel tanker explosion that happened in Agaie Local Government Area, resulting in the loss of life and property.
The Governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, expressed sadness over the terrible occurrence and the massive loss.
He stated that the State Government, via the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, and other relevant organizations, has dispatched personnel to the accident site to conduct rescue operations and other required activities.
Bago also urged inhabitants of the affected region to be calm and to always be cautious and follow road traffic laws in order to protect lives and property, while hoping that Allah may rest the souls of the deceased and grant those injured a speedy recovery.
Over 30 individuals perished in the Agaie disaster, and 50 animals were burned alive, according to a statement published by the Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, Abdullahi Baba Arab.
He stated that the event occurred on Sunday at 12:30 a.m., approximately 2 kilometers from Dendo Community in Agaie, the capital of the Agaie local government region, and claimed the lives of people, burned animals, and wrecked automobiles.
