The Nation reports that among the names on the list of ministerial nominations sent to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are the recently-retired governor of Kaduna State, El-Rufai, his counterpart from Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and the eminent lawyer Lateef Fagbemi (SAN).
Senator Ben Ayade, Ali Pate, a distinguished medical researcher, an economist Olawale Edun, banker Adebayo Adelabu, former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, Mrs. Betta Edu, and Dele Alake, a distinguished journalist and the Special Advisor on Media, Strategy, and Special Duties, are also mentioned.
The list was reportedly given by Tinubu to Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Thursday morning.
This complies with a constitutional requirement that the list be delivered to the National Assembly within 60 days of the President’s inauguration.
The mix of politicians and technocrats on the list is seen to represent the character of the country.
