Former Arsenal captain Aubameyang has reportedly begun negotiations to terminate his contract with Chelsea, expressing his displeasure with his side and his desire to return to Barcelona.
The Gabonese international offered himself to Barça during the January window, but the operation did not come to fruition because the regulations did not allow him to be registered.
The striker previously enjoyed a successful spell at Barcelona and was sold to Chelsea for 12 million pounds before the Catalan club expressed their interest in re-signing him for free.
Aubameyang is said to have been in contact with Barcelona teammates and manager Xavi, making clear his desire to return to the club and play as a backup striker to Robert Lewandowski.
In his last match for Chelsea, Aubameyang lasted just 45 minutes and was booed by the Arsenal fans. After nine touches, a decent portion of which came from kick-offs, Aubameyang found himself sacrificed at half time.
In the coming days it will be clearer, if Chelsea will terminate the Gabonese contract or try to sell him for a fee.
