Auto Crash Claims 14 Lives, 5 Injured in Bauchi – FRSC

As many as 14 people died in a car accident that killed them in Zangoro village on the Bauchi-Darazo road. The Sector Commander of the Federal Traffic Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi State Command, Yusuf Abdullahi, said this at the Road Traffic Crash (RTC) report in Bauchi on Thursday.

He said five other people were injured to varying degrees in the accident, which occurred at 12:17 pm on Thursday.

According to him, a Golf 3 with registration number AJ507GWA and a Chevrolet were involved in the accident.

The FRSC commander believed that overspeeding was the cause of the crash. He further added that Corps personnel had cleared the scene. They recovered 73,000 Naira, seven phones, a power bank and four small wallets.

“Nineteen persons were involved in the fatal road crash comprising 10 female adults, seven male adults, one female child and one male child.

“Fourteen of them lost their lives on the spot. They include 10 female adults, two male adults, one male child and one female child,” he said.

Abdullahi said the bodies of the deceased were all moved to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for medical attention and identification.

He advised motorists to respect traffic rules and regulations while plying the road.
