Big Brother Naija star Bamike “BamBam” Adenibuyan has received praise after stepping in to save a mother of three from ending her life at Megamound Estate in Lekki.
The reality star took to Instagram to share a video documenting the heartbreaking incident. According to BamBam, the woman, who hails from Malawi, was driven to the brink due to her husband’s infidelity and emotional abuse. With multiple baby mamas and persistent efforts to frustrate her, the man left her feeling isolated in a foreign country.
While on a movie set, BamBam heard cries from the neighboring house. She rushed over to find the distraught mother of three atop a GP water tank with a noose around her neck. BamBam’s timely intervention prevented a tragedy, but she emphasized the urgent need for help.
In her post, the reality star called for recommendations for a rehabilitation center or suicide watch mentor to support the woman and her children. She expressed her shock at the husband’s cruel behavior, revealing that he commanded his wife to take her life while their three young children—one still breastfeeding—were inside the house.
People are evil,” she wrote. “This woman almost ended her life. Her husband, two brothers, and his side chic were inside the house. Where is our humanity?”
In a later update, BamBam confirmed that activist Adetoun and the Lagos State government had stepped in to provide support. The woman and her children were safely relocated, and BamBam thanked Omoni Oboli, the producer on set, for prioritizing the case over production.
She urged women to speak up against domestic violence and advised them not to let abusive relationships rob them of their lives. BamBam also expressed gratitude for the swift intervention and the community’s support in saving the mother of three.
The news sparked a conversation on social media, with many expressing concern about the rising cases of domestic abuse in marriages. Followers applauded BamBam for her courage and called for more awareness and action to protect women from such situations.
