Benue State Government has announced its support for the proposed tax reform proposals before the National Assembly.
The bills currently being debated in the National Assembly are fraught with controversy.
Michael Oglegba, Benue State Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, stated Monday in an interview with media in Makurdi that the state government is willing to help the Federal Government’s efforts to increase income through taxes.
According to Oglegba, Benue State Commissioner:
“The tax reform bill is largely a good bill. We support the effort of the Federal Government to grow tax revenues.”
Several northern states, including senators in the National Assembly, are opposed to the tax overhaul.
