The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday upheld the victory of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Sule of the All Progressives Congress was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, with David Ombugad of the Peoples Democratic Party coming in second.
However, the tribunal, chaired by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, ruled in a split decision that, based on evidence from the numerous polling units before the tribunal, Ombugadu had the majority of legitimate votes during the election.
Sule, however, filed an appeal and requested the appellate court to vacate the judgment.
The court erased from its records the evidence and exhibits from PW5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 20, and 21 on which the tribunal relied in its decision on Thursday.
