Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo has signed a new contract until 2027 with the club option for another year.
The 21-year-old Ecuador international had asked to leave the club in the January transfer window with multiple bids from Arsenal.
Caicedo joined Brighton in 2021 from Independiente del Valle and made his debut against Tottenham in the 2022 FA Cup.
However, he has now changed his mind and committed his future to Brighton. On the other hand, his statistics suggest why the club want to keep Caicedo.
Since making his full Premier League debut against Arsenal in 2022, the club has won 15 of the 29 league games that he has played.
Speaking after the news was confirmed, Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi said
“This is a fantastic news for the club, our fans, for me and most importantly for Moises. It will make us stronger as we move forward towards our targets on the pitch.”
