Dealing with Relationship Breakups.

You just found out your partner of two years has been seeing someone else on the side the whole time. Your world has come crashing down. You feel like you can’t go on anymore. I’m so sorry to hear that. Breakups are tough, no matter how you slice them. But don’t worry, you’ll get through this. I’m here to help – and so is the rest of the internet.

In this post, we’ll cover everything from the five stages of breakup grief to how to get over a breakup and move on with your life. We’ll also talk about some helpful tips for healing your broken heart. So sit back, relax, and let’s get started.

The Process of Grieving.

There isn’t a universal response to this question, but we can give you a few general tips on how to get over a breakup. First, you need to go through the process of grieving. This may involve crying, eating an unhealthy amount of ice cream, and watching sad movies. It’s also normal to feel a range of intense emotions, such as anger, sadness, and confusion.

It’s important to allow yourself time to grieve, and don’t try to rush the process. Take care of yourself both physically and emotionally, and reach out to your friends and family for support. When you’re ready, you can start focusing on moving on with your life. Just remember that it’s OK to take things slow – there’s no rush to find a new partner.

Don’t Blame Yourself.

It’s hard not to feel like you’re the one who messed everything up. You second-guess every decision, wondering if you could have done something different. You replay the arguments in your head, trying to see where it all went wrong.

But the fact is, breakups are never one person’s fault. They take two people to happen, and both people are responsible for the outcome. So don’t beat yourself up – it’s only going to make things harder on you.

There’s no “right” way to get over a breakup, but there are plenty of wrong ones. Don’t isolate yourself from your friends and family. Don’t drink or self-medicate yourself into oblivion. And don’t spend hours scrolling through your ex’s Instagram feed (you’re only going to make yourself more miserable).

Give Yourself Time to Heal.

When it comes to heartbreak, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Some people might need to crawl into a hole for a few months, and others might need to throw themselves into a new relationship ASAP.

But one thing is for sure – you need to give yourself time to heal. You can’t just flip a switch and pretend that your relationship never happened. It takes time for the wounds to scab over and for the pain to dull.

So what can you do in the meantime? Well, you could distract yourself with work, friends, or hobbies. Or you could wallow in your misery by eating an entire pint of ice cream and watching sad movies. The choice is yours!

Fill the Void.

The first step is to fill the void. Breakups can be really tough, and it’s important to find ways to distract yourself from the pain. So, find your new go-to hobby, something that will make you happy and keep your mind off of things. Maybe it’s painting, hiking, reading, or knitting – whatever it is, make sure you stick with it.

The second step is to talk to your friends and family. They want to help, so let them. Cry on their shoulders, rant and rave about how much you hate your ex, and generally just spew your feelings all over them. They’ll listen (and probably offer some great advice too).

The third step is to get back out there. This can be really tough, especially if you’re not feeling 100%. But remember: there are plenty of people out there who would love to be in a relationship with you.

Learn From the Experience.

First, it’s important to remember that breakups are a learning experience. You can learn a lot about yourself – and about relationships – from the time you spend with your ex. What went wrong? What could you have done differently? What do you need to work on in order to have a healthy relationship in the future?

Second, don’t dwell on the past. The sooner you can accept that the relationship is over, the sooner you can move on. Yes, it hurts. But it’s time to put on your big-boy (or girl) pants and face the world head-on. Last but not least, don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Talk to your friends, talk to a therapist, read a book – whatever it takes to help you get through this tough time.

Breakups are never easy, but with a little bit of perseverance, you’ll eventually heal your heart and be ready for the next relationship.

We’ve all been there – heartbroken and struggling to pick up the pieces. It can feel impossible to move on, but with time and a bit of effort, you can start to heal your heart.
