Turkish club Galatasaray is currently deliberating whether to submit a fifth offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen or abandon negotiations altogether, following the Italian club’s rejection of their latest proposal.
The situation was disclosed by Nigerian sports journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, popularly known as Buchi Laba, who maintains close ties with the Super Eagles forward.
According to Buchi Laba’s social media update, Galatasaray’s fourth bid met all of Napoli’s initial demands, including the transfer fee structure and contractual conditions.
However, the Serie A club subsequently introduced new requirements regarding payment instalments and a sell-on clause, prompting the Turkish side to walk away from the deal.
“Galatasaray agreed to all terms and conditions requested by the Italians,” Buchi Laba reported, “and now they want more in the second instalment’s payments and sell-on clause.”
The journalist further revealed that Osimhen has explicitly expressed his desire to join Galatasaray, putting additional pressure on Napoli to reconsider their stance.
Despite the player’s preference, negotiations have reached an impasse, with Galatasaray’s management now holding internal discussions about their next steps.
This transfer saga highlights the complexities of modern football negotiations, where clubs frequently adjust demands even after initial agreements. For Osimhen, the prolonged talks represent another chapter in what has been a turbulent period since helping Napoli win their first Serie A title in 33 years during the 2022-23 season.
