Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has reassured citizens of his stable health condition following a road accident that occurred on Sunday evening.
The governor’s official vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a Golf car along the Daura-Katsina road, prompting emergency medical attention for him and two others, including his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman-Nasir.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, Governor Radda expressed gratitude to the people of Katsina State for their prayers and concern.
The governor, who was initially treated at the Federal Medical Centre in Daura before being transferred to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina, confirmed that he is currently resting at home under medical observation as a precautionary measure.
In a brief video message, Governor Radda stated, “By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident, but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.”
He emphasised that while he remains under observation to ensure full recovery, he is in good health and high spirits. The governor’s reassurance comes amid widespread concern from residents following reports of the accident.
Authorities have not yet disclosed details regarding the cause of the collision or the condition of other individuals involved.
The incident has drawn attention to road safety concerns in the region, with many citizens joining in prayers for the governor’s complete recovery. Governor Radda concluded his message by reiterating appreciation for the public’s support during the incident.
