Hamas: Israel conducts overnight ‘targeted raid’ in Gaza- Army

The Israeli Army on Thursday confirmed that Israeli tanks took part in a “targeted raid” in northern Gaza overnight as it prepared for a ground assault.

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu said the country is “preparing for a ground offensive” in addition to the ongoing bombing campaign against Hamas-controlled Gaza.

“Overnight, the IDF conducted a targeted raid using tanks in the northern Gaza Strip, as part of preparations for the next stages of combat.

“The soldiers exited the area at the end of the activity,” according to the army.

Israeli officials affirm that on October 7, hordes of Hamas militants stormed into Israel, murdering 1,400 people, primarily civilians, and capturing 222 more.

According to data given by the territory’s Hamas-controlled health ministry, more than 6,500 Gazans have already perished as a result of Israel’s aerial attack.

A military spokesperson told AFP that this was not the first time Israeli troops and tanks had infiltrated Gaza for brief raids since October 7.
