Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving the quality of education across the state.

This affirmation was made during a courtesy visit by the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and the university’s management team at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

The governor used the occasion to formally present land allocation papers for staff housing in the Sabon Gari and Chikun Local Government Areas, a strategic move aimed at enhancing the welfare and morale of ABU’s academic and non-academic staff.

Governor Sani emphasised that education remains the cornerstone of his government’s transformation agenda.

This commitment is substantiated by a significant increase in the education sector’s share of the state budget, which now stands at 26.14% for the 2025 fiscal year. Concrete actions already undertaken include the construction of 62 new schools, the building and renovation of over 1,700 classrooms, and a 50% reduction in tuition fees for all state-owned tertiary institutions. Furthermore, the administration has commissioned three of the largest and most well-equipped vocational and skills development institutes in Nigeria.

The visiting delegation from ABU expressed profound gratitude for the state government’s support and commended the administration’s notable progress in key sectors such as education, agriculture, transportation, and inclusive governance.

The Vice Chancellor highlighted that Governor Sani’s inclusive governance style, which ensures every citizen feels a sense of belonging, is now being studied in ABU’s faculties as a model for Nigeria’s democratic future.

The university also lauded the government’s efforts in improving security and pledged its readiness to collaborate closely with the state to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Kaduna.
