Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division and Operation Whirl Punch killed two bandits during a clearance operation in the general area of Juji and Telele-Kaso, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, acting deputy director, Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army, stated in a statement on Tuesday that the troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle and three AK-47 rifle magazines.

“Five 7.62mm (special) ammunition, two locally-made hand grenades, four handsets, two motorcycles bearing, spanners, screwdrivers and two bags,” the statement said.

He added that the bandits who opened fire when they saw troops approaching their location were overwhelmed by superior and overwhelming firepower, neutralising two of the bandits while others fled in confusion.
