Kyle Walker has renewed his contract with Manchester City, extending his commitment to the club until 2026. The English right-back had been on the verge of joining Bayern Munich but has now decided to stay with the treble-winning team.

Walker’s future at Manchester City appeared uncertain when he briefly fell out of favor last season due to doubts about his compatibility with Pep Guardiola’s new style of play. However, he made a remarkable comeback and played a pivotal role in their successful treble campaign. Notably, he has taken up the captain’s armband in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne, who suffered an early-season injury.

Expressing his joy, Walker said, “I’m absolutely delighted… to represent this fantastic club for another two more seasons, hopefully many more. I wanted to be a part of it and didn’t want to miss out.”

The England international joined City in the summer of 2017 and has been a key defender in our success over the last six years.

Walker has made 260 appearances on his way to winning five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, two Community Shields, the Champions League and the Super Cup.

With City set to face West Ham in their upcoming match, Walker will be eager to contribute to their pursuit of more silverware. His decision to remain at the club adds depth and experience to the squad, further bolstering Manchester City’s ambitions for the season.
