In the aftermath of social media activist Vincent Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man, being denied bail on Monday, his lawyer has stepped forward to address the situation amidst ongoing controversy surrounding his arrest.

The embattled socialite, who was arrested by actress Tonto Dikeh for allegations of cyberbullying and threats to her life, has faced challenges in securing bail due to the stringent conditions imposed. His bail terms, including the requirement for a property owner in Abuja with a government seal of oath, submission of an international passport for a year, and a staggering sum of N200 million, have posed significant hurdles.

Speaking on behalf of Very Dark Man, his lawyer expressed confidence in the professionalism of the police to adhere to due process. However, he emphasized that if bail is not granted, the law will take its course, including utilizing the judicial process and enabling supporters to engage in peaceful protests online and offline.

The lawyer also shed light on the individuals involved in Very Dark Man’s arrest, which include actresses Tonto Dikeh and Iyabo Ojo, as well as singer Samklef. These personalities have been embroiled in public disputes with Very Dark Man, stemming from political affiliations, legal cases, and personal disagreements.

Very Dark Man’s confrontations with Tonto Dikeh escalated over her political alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC), while clashes with Iyabo Ojo arose from her involvement in the late singer Mohbad’s case. These exchanges spiraled into heated exchanges, with accusations and insults exchanged between the parties involved.
