As the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves prepare for Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, both teams have released critical injury updates. The Mavericks lead the series 3-1 and could advance to the NBA Finals with a win on Thursday night.

Dallas has listed star player Luka Doncic and rookie Dereck Lively II as questionable for the game. Additionally, Olivier-Maxence Prosper has been ruled out. The potential absence of Doncic, a key player for the Mavericks, could significantly impact their performance.

For the Timberwolves, starting point guard Mike Conley is also questionable. Conley’s experience and leadership are vital for Minnesota, especially in such a crucial game.

In Game 4, the Timberwolves secured a narrow victory with a 105-100 win over the Mavericks in Dallas. Anthony Edwards was the standout player, scoring 29 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out nine assists. Edwards’ performance was instrumental in keeping the Timberwolves’ hopes alive.

A win for the Mavericks will send them to the NBA Finals, where they will face the Boston Celtics, who have already swept the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. If the Timberwolves win, they will force a Game 6 back in Dallas on Saturday evening.

The Celtics will have more rest, with Game 1 of the Finals set for June 6 in Boston. This gives them a potential advantage over either the Mavericks or the Timberwolves, who are still battling it out in the Western Conference Finals.

Both teams are eager to advance and face the Celtics, making Game 5 a pivotal match in the Western Conference Finals.
