Amid discussions surrounding a DNA test for paternity confirmation, Mr. Joseph Aloba, the late Afrobeat star Mohbad’s father, expresses disapproval of the decision to relocate his son’s body for a more dignified funeral.
Notably, celebrities like Bella Shmurda and Tonto Dikeh initiated the effort to move Mohbad’s body from the mortuary for an honorable burial.
This proposal emerged approximately two months after the police exhumed Mohbad’s body for investigative purposes. In response, Mohbad’s father asserts that he should have the authority to approve such actions rather than them being carried out without his consent.
Emphasizing the importance of a DNA test to establish paternity, Mr. Aloba states,
I’ve been hearing maybe some people want to go and carry Mohbad’s body. When this boy was alive, he was my son, now that he’s gone, he still retains my name. Nobody should go and carry Mohbad’s body from there. If there’s anything you want to do, I should be the one to authorize it. Let’s get justice for Mohbad; after burial wetin remain? Let justice prevail first; the DNA is necessary.”
