Niger State Governor, Muhammed Bago has established eight new ministries and approved the appointment of 40 permanent secretaries as part of the administration’s development strategy.
This is stated in a statement issued by the state’s Head of Service, Abubakar Yahaya Salisu, on July 17, 2023.
In addition, the governor gave his approval for the appointment of five additional permanent secretaries.
Among the new ministries are the
- Ministry of Secondary and Tertiary Health
- Ministry of Communication Technology and Digital Economy
- Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the Ministry of Homeland Security.
- Ministry of Power & Renewable Energy
- Ministry of Rural Development
- Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs & Disaster Management
- Ministry of Housing & Urban Renewal.
The recently appointed permanent secretaries are as follows:
- Umar Zukogi posted to the Ministry of Housing and Rural Development
- Aishatu Yelwa Nuhu – Information and Strategy
- Dr Matthew Ahmed – Livestock and Fishery
- Mairo Mann – Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management
- Former Commissioner of Health, Dr Mohammed Makusidi returned to civil service as Permanent Secretary, Special Duties in the office of the Secretary to the State Government.
