The Nigerian Army has issued a firm denial regarding social media reports claiming it has commenced recruitment for its 90th Regular Intake.

The army has labelled these widespread advertisements and announcements as entirely false and misleading, urging the public to disregard them completely.

The rebuttal was delivered in an official statement released on Saturday by Captain AU Hammanga, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Directorate of Recruitment.

In the statement, the army clarified that the circulated information is not authentic and should be ignored by all prospective applicants. It further advised individuals seeking to join the military to exercise patience and wait for an official and formal announcement from the proper channels, which will be made public when a genuine recruitment process is set to begin.

The statement also emphasised the integrity of the army’s official digital platforms, noting that the Nigerian Army maintains a clean and clear website where all legitimate information is published.

It served a strong warning to fraudsters who are deliberately attempting to deceive and exploit hopeful applicants, cautioning them to cease their activities immediately or face the consequences of their actions.

Reaffirming its commitment to ethical standards, the Nigerian Army promised to continue upholding the highest levels of transparency and professionalism throughout all its recruitment exercises. The public was strongly cautioned to remain vigilant and to avoid falling victim to these deceptive schemes, which are designed to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
