The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, recently celebrated his 50th birthday, and the occasion was marked by a sweet tribute from his twins on social media.
The internet buzzed with celebrations from his wives, government officials, and entertainment celebrities, all showering the monarch with heartwarming birthday wishes.
Queen Tobi Philips, one of the Ooni’s wives, shared a touching photo of her twin boy and girl dressed in onesies featuring the message, “Happy birthday to the best dad.” Alongside the adorable images, she wrote, “Happy 50th Birthday World Best Dad,” expressing her love and admiration for the monarch.
In her own birthday message, Queen Tobi expressed her affection for her husband, stating, “Happy 50th Birthday my darling husband! May this new milestone be of abundance.”
However, the celebration was not without its drama. Recently, the Ooni’s wives made headlines when they were caught snubbing each other at an event. During the unveiling of a coffee table book titled “Ile-Ife, The Cradle of the World” in Lagos, a video surfaced showing Olori Ashley and Olori Ronke sitting together when the Ooni’s first wife, Olori Mariam, approached them. While Olori Mariam exchanged pleasantries with Olori Ashley, Olori Ronke reportedly ignored her, sparking conversations online.
In a previous post, Queen Tobi Philips had also shared a video expressing gratitude to her fans for their support during her absence from social media. She playfully mentioned that the pressure was high and urged her followers to “fasten their seat belts for back-to-back entertainment.”
