Troops from the Operation Safe Haven Special Military Task Force have killed four suspected bandits in Plateau and areas of Bauchi and Kaduna States.
Capt. James Oya, the operation’s Media Officer, said this in a statement issued on Monday in Jos.
Between October 16 and October 22, the forces detained 120 people for various illegal activities in their areas of operation, he added.
According to Oya, several of the suspects were detained for kidnapping, armed robbery, livestock rustling, and drug trafficking, among other crimes.
Other suspects were detained for unlawful possession of rifles and ammunition, he said, adding that the operation freed four abducted victims.
Capt. James said:
“Within the period under review, we neutralised four suspected bandits, arrested 73 suspects with arms and ammunition and 37 others for kidnapping.
“We rescued four kidnapped victims, arrested two suspected cattle rustlers and four suspected drug peddlers.
“We prevented five attacks on vulnerable communities and promptly responded to 28 distress.”
