On Wednesday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde emphasised his administration’s willingness to work with investors to unleash the state’s tourist potential.

He also stated that prospects exist in the tourist industry that, if properly capitalised on, may lead to wealth, and that the state has six important development sites, including the Cultural Centre in Ibadan, Bower’s Tower, Eleyele Waterfront, Idere Hills, Iyake Suspended Lake, and Iyamapo Hills.

He made this known during the opening ceremony of the International Tourism Summit #ITSOYOSTATE 2024, which was held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, the state capital.

The governor committed to assist and collaborate with essential stakeholders, fostering a relationship that would lead to long-term growth and ensure the success of their investments.

Speaking on the topic of “Repositioning Tourism as a Driver for Sustainable Development in Oyo State.”

Makinde stated that his government has prioritised the interconnectedness of all zones in order to attract visitors to the sites and create an enabling environment for tourism to grow, as well as to enhance the experience for business travellers.
